Join our transformative mission as a volunteer with the Sacred Thread Foundation.

Volunteering is the cornerstone of our work at the Hilo Sagrado Foundation. It allows us to establish closer ties with Indigenous communities, learn from their invaluable ancestral traditions, and directly contribute to the sustainable development of their territories. We invite you to be part of this transformative process and join our team of volunteers.

For more than seven years, we have worked tirelessly on various fronts to promote the comprehensive development of the Wayúu community. Through our "Developing Productive Capacities," "Sowing Ideas," and "Weaving Change" programs, we have achieved significant progress in areas such as economic empowerment, education, and environmental stewardship.

Our "Developing Productive Capacities" program strengthens the artisanal and entrepreneurial skills of talented Wayúu artisans, while promoting the preservation of their ancestral knowledge and the care of their territory. Meanwhile, "Sowing Ideas" focuses on providing children and young people with a comprehensive education, fostering reading habits and preparing them for the challenges of the future. Finally, through "Weaving Changes," we work on sustainable development projects such as installing water filters and promoting environmental practices.

We want to count on you to continue this legacy and amplify our positive impact on Indigenous communities. It will be an enriching experience where you will have the opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the Wayúu culture and traditions while helping us create transformative change.

Agreement with the University of La Sabana

At Hilo Sagrado, we host interns from the University of La Sabana semester after semester. Our foundation provides a space for them to experience their first professional life. Here, students have the opportunity to apply the knowledge they've acquired throughout their studies in a real-life setting, contributing their training to projects with social, cultural, and community impact. Beyond their work, each intern leaves a valuable mark on the foundation: ideas, lessons learned, and gestures that enrich our daily lives and which we deeply appreciate.
