Painting dreams

A dream come true!

The intervention of Hilo Sagrado and its project for the UCCA.

At Hilo Sagrado, we began our intervention project at the UCA. Over the past few months, we've been preparing something beautiful for our children ages 0 to 5 who are part of this program and the reading club. Among the proposed objectives was the creation of a mural alluding to the preservation of culture, representing the different themes of the Wayu communities and the work of women to support their families.

We're sure you've heard that the Wayu Indigenous communities' lack of opportunities is detrimental to their health and quality of life, forcing them to live in conditions of extreme poverty.

Our purpose has always been to bring happiness, smiles, and empower children with intellectual capacity and critical thinking that will allow them to take control of their lives and have a better future.

Therefore, the foundation, seeking a solution and trying to help develop the next generation, does not sit idly by. It is responsible for creating spaces that serve as incubators, providing knowledge and helping them develop skills that will help them in their daily lives and providing them with information so they can wisely manage their time and money. Today, we want to remind you that at Hilo Sagrado, our work ensures that indigenous communities and Wayu families learn to create sustainable production lines in order to escape the extreme poverty that is a reality for many of these artisans.

Remember that “you weave history.”
