Reading is growing
This year, at Hilo Sagrado, we've had the opportunity to work on a seed project seeking to encourage and promote reading and improve writing skills among children of different ages in the Ciruelakat community through workshops and integrative activities on Fridays and Saturdays. This project became a space for empowerment, addressing a clear weakness within the Wayuu communities.

With the aim of encouraging and maintaining children's motivation toward education, reading, and writing. And considering that in La Guajira children have to walk long distances to get to school, and that the heat and terrain make these journeys even more difficult, we thought the best means of transportation for them is a bicycle.
At Hilo Sacrificio, we want to improve the lives of all our Wayúu communities. Thanks to this, and thanks to the help of Ferdinand Flackman and all of you, we were able to donate 35 bicycles to the children.
