Cultivating food security

The project sowing dreams grew thanks to the help of one of our volunteers who is an expert in botany, he led the task of sowing plants capable of surviving the arid conditions of La Guajira.

The main objective of this work was to introduce into the community the idea that they can be self -sufficient. To do this, we taught a series of workshops on the treatment of crops and try to teach them what type of plants are suitable for growing in that area.

Given the conditions of extreme aridity, lack of water and high temperatures, food production is difficult to supply. That is why sowing dreams sought more options that provide nutrition alternatives, especially the youngest representing the future of the community. In fact, they are the ones that mainly received knowledge in the treatment of crops.

Our project is designed to provide the Wayuú community with the ability to empower economically and provide a sustainable future for the little ones. Let's not forget that everything that is cultivated with love is given good fruits in the harvest.
